how to paint finished wood to look antiqued?
I have an old cedar sleigh bed that I want to make look antiqued.

Does anyone know how I can do this? Or where I can find some DIY instructions?

I thought I could paint it a base color, then use crackle paint, and then finish it with an off white. But, I just dont know how to since it is already finished!

Any advice!?

You can get a antiquing kit. Try Hobbie Lobby, Wal-Mart. Home Depot. Or paint stores.
Go out and buy an antique bed...problem solved.
You are very artistic. Since your sleigh bed is already finished, I would suggest just sanding lightly around the edges using fine sandpaper. If the base color comes out, that should be just ok. It gives your bed that worn out and faded effect.
